From StageWrite to school…

StageWrite 2014 was a fantastic experience and we’re already considering the possibility of taking a couple of the pieces into full production, and talking about StageWrite 2015!  Huge thanks to all those involved last week – our brilliant company of actors/directors; to the writers; to our technician Austen, our front of house team and our audiences.  Phil and I had a few hours respite before going straight into final rehearsals for ‘Our Present Future’, a piece that Phil has written as part of a project for local schools that explores the themes of careers, achievements and aspirations.  We’re performing this for the first time on Friday.  The piece focuses on four characters, all with different talents and priorities, who through a random meeting with each other are challenged and questioned about their hopes for the future.  It’s been SO much fun to rehearse!  Nothing beats setting up a classroom and staging impromptu battles with screwed up bits of paper and nicking stationery off each other as a wind-up.
